Scott B. Robbins, M.D. is a Wiregrass Surgical partner and general and bariatric surgeon. He grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and attended college at the University of Alabama, receiving his degree in Health Care Management and English. Following his undergraduate studies, he attended UAB’s School of Medicine and graduated with his medical degree in 1996. Dr. Robbins completed his general surgery residency at the University of South Alabama where he served as Chief Resident of the Department of Surgery from 2000 to 2001.
Dr. Robbins prides himself on being a caring physician who is full of energy and compassion. He is always aiming to provide the highest standard of care to each of his patients.
Dr. Robbins is an active member of the Houston County Medical Society, the Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons, the American Society of Bariatric Surgery, the Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and the Society of American Gastrointestinal & Endoscopic Surgeons. He has also served on the National Council for Advancement in Bariatric Surgery. Among his many accomplishments, he is responsible for establishing the bariatric surgery program at Flowers Hospital, and was the first in the area to perform both the gastric bypass and LAP-BAND procedures. Dr. Robbins currently serves as the Chief of Staff for Flowers Hospital and is affiliated with both Flowers Hospital and Dothan Surgery Center.
Dr. Robbins and his wife, Jean, have three children together and have been married since 2001. During his free time, Dr. Robbins enjoys golf, fishing, football, traveling and spending time with his family.
